Hospital
Housekeeping:
Hospital
housekeeping in a government environment requires the implementation
of the highest cleaning standards and practices throughout the industry.
Training and innovation of best cleaning practices is a daily requirement.
Evans Army Hospital is a 500,000 sq ft. full service medical facility.
In addition to the main hospital, PCSI is responsible for 11 additional
buildings within Ft. Carson which include dental clinics, vet clinics,
troop medical clinics and administrative offices. Our staff is trained
to provide specialized cleaning services ranging from Operating
Suites, Labor and Delivery, Nursery, Occupational Therapy, Radiology,
Nuclear Medicine, Nutritional Care Division, Oral Surgery, Intensive
Care Units, Patient Wards, Psychiatry services, as well as over
1000 general examination and treatment rooms.
Our
contract which commenced on May 16, 2001 has surpassed a Joint Commission
for Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) with a score
of 98% and zero findings in the housekeeping department. Following
our achievement during this inspection, the hospital commander personally
and individually issued an award to each housekeeper and management
in appreciation of our contribution to the appearance of the hospital.
PCSI
has also successfully passed two Command Logistics Review Team inspections
(CLRT), the most recent, received special recognition for compliance
and overall appearance of the facility. PCSI was put on the Logistics
Hero's List, a first for any contractor under this administration.
As
a result of our reputation and excellent performance at Evans, NISH
named PCSI at Evans the Center of Excellence. This program was initiated
in January of 2005. The COE program will be used to establish best
practices for hospital environmental services throughout the nation
and will serve as a new business incubator for future contracts.
The COE uses our current contract to measure excellence in cleaning
standards and performance.
PCSI
received special recognition by the Center for Health Promotion
and Preventive Medicine (CHPPM) inspectors from the Great Plains
Medical Region in 2004. The inspectors cited that this is the cleanest
hospital they have been in the entire region (36 hospitals).
PCSI has received over 100 written customer appreciation letters
from patients, staff and visitors at this facility. A recent letter
was copied to the Commander in Chief, commenting on the cleanliness
of the facility and the professionalism of our staff.
