Position: Network Engineer
Reports to: Corporate Director of Information Technology
Location: Austin, Texas
Type of Position and FLSA Status: Regular/Full-Time/Exempt
Job Description:
We are looking for a full time Network Engineer
that can thrive in a challenging and rewarding environment. This
person will help design, implement, troubleshoot, analyze, and
maintain networks.
Responsibilities:

Architect,
design, implement, troubleshoot, analyze, and maintain networks.

Configure,
test, and maintain LAN/WAN/SAN equipment and related services.
-
Perform ongoing
network fine tuning, upgrades and enhancements to optimize network
performance, availability, and security.

Monitor network
for security breaches and intrusion attempts.
-
Identify,
diagnose, and resolve network problems.
-
Create and
maintain comprehensive documentation for all implemented networks.
-
Windows and
Linux systems, business applications, anti-virus protection, email,
and authentication administration.
-
Daily
maintenance and problem resolution, operating system patches and
software upgrades, and routine hardware configuration.
-
Participate in
24x7 on-call rotation.
Qualifications:
-
Hands-on
experience implementing and administrating network devices, setting
and maintaining policies and security rights within a Windows Server
2003/2008 environment.

Possess a
thorough understanding of the OSI network model, Ethernet, and
TCP/IP networking.
-
Possess a
practical and high level of experience implementing and
administrating common TCP/IP-based services, including, but not
limited to DNS, VLAN, iSCSI, DHCP, HTTP(S), FTP, SSH, SNMP, SMTP,
and VoIP.

Possess a
practical and high level of experience working with VMware vSphere
networking.

Possess expert
knowledge of common network monitoring and security utilities.

Ability to
configure and integrate various brands of firewalls and routers.
-
Experience with
various brands of network switches.
-
Experience with
traditional and SSL VPN technologies.
-
Experience with
highly available and load balanced systems.
-
Experience
configuring, maintaining and troubleshooting wireless access points.
-
3+ years of
network administration in an enterprise environment is mandatory.

Voracious
appetite to learn new technologies and maintain industry knowledge.
-
Excellent
customer presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
-
Current
networking certification a plus.
-
Ability to
lift, carry, and move all components of PC workstations, servers,
network equipment, peripherals, and other ancillary equipment.
-
Ability to
travel 25-50% of the time.
